Gree Air Conditioning Installation & Replacement on the Costa del Sol
Costa Del Sol Air Conditioning supplies and installs Gree air conditioning and air-to-air heat pump systems for apartments, villas and commercial premises across the Costa del Sol. We plan new installations, renovation work and complete replacements of older or underperforming equipment.
A property survey covers room dimensions, glazing, orientation, insulation, occupancy, electrical supply, condensate drainage, refrigerant pipe routes, outdoor-unit positions and the number of zones required. These factors affect capacity and installation scope, so we do not recommend a system using floor area alone.

Which Gree System Fits Your Property?
Gree’s current Spanish domestic range includes wall-mounted monosplits, Free Match multi-splits, floor consoles and compatible ducted or cassette indoor units. Availability, capacity and functions vary, so the final selection is based on current combination data.
Gree Monosplit Systems
A monosplit connects one indoor unit to one outdoor unit and can suit a bedroom, living area, office or another defined space. Current Spanish families include Pular, Charmo, Clivia+ and Fair, offering different designs and feature levels.
Gree Free Match Multi-Splits
Free Match can connect several compatible indoor units to one outdoor unit. Gree currently lists wall, cassette, ducted, console and floor/ceiling options, with some outdoor units supporting up to five indoor units. The permitted combination, total connected capacity, pipe lengths and simultaneous demand must be checked before quotation.
Ducted and Cassette Options
Concealed ducted systems can deliver air through discreet grilles where adequate ceiling space and distribution routes exist. Cassette units may suit larger open rooms or commercial areas. Return air, drainage, static pressure, filters and service access must be designed into the installation.
Heat-Pump Heating and Cooling
Many current Gree systems provide cooling and heat-pump heating. Seasonal efficiency and output depend on the exact indoor/outdoor combination and operating conditions; the quotation will identify the applicable data.
Current Gree Pular, Clivia+, Fair and Free Match Features
Gree Spain currently presents Pular as a simple comfort range, Clivia+ around intelligent comfort and Fair around design and connectivity. These descriptions do not mean that every capacity has identical controls, sound data or efficiency.
Inverter Operation
Current Gree split ranges use inverter control to vary compressor output as demand changes. This can support steadier room temperatures and efficient part-load operation, but actual consumption also depends on sizing, installation, insulation, settings and usage.
Wi-Fi and Controls
Wi-Fi is listed on selected ranges, including current Fair products, while controller provision differs across monosplit, multi-split, ducted and cassette equipment. App support, accessories and available functions will be confirmed for the exact model.
R32 and Model Data
Gree lists R32 across relevant current domestic and Free Match products. Published ratings, operating ranges and indoor or outdoor sound figures remain model-specific. We check the data needed for bedrooms, terraces and boundary-sensitive positions instead of making one claim for the whole range.
Planning Comfort, Running Costs and Coastal Installation
The most useful efficiency decision is normally to match the system to the rooms and operate it sensibly. An oversized unit can cycle unnecessarily, while an undersized unit may run hard without achieving the required comfort on hot afternoons. We consider shade, west-facing glass, open staircases, kitchen loads and typical occupancy before choosing a Gree capacity.
Controls and Everyday Use
Independent room control is valuable where bedrooms, living areas and guest spaces have different schedules. Setting an extreme temperature does not make a room cool proportionally faster; a stable setting, closed external doors and clean filters generally support more predictable operation. Where Wi-Fi or timers are required, we confirm which functions belong to the unit and which require an accessory.
Outdoor Units Near the Coast
Outdoor equipment needs clear airflow, a secure support, drainage management and access for cleaning and future service. On exposed properties we also consider salt-laden air, prevailing wind and whether a terrace position could transmit noise or warm discharge air towards neighbours. No coastal location is maintenance-free, so access matters as much as appearance.
What an Itemised Gree Quote Should Show
The proposal should identify the full indoor and outdoor model references, rated capacity, controls, unit positions, pipe and cable routes, condensate method, electrical work, removal of old equipment and making good that is included. It should also record exclusions and any choices that depend on opening ceilings or confirming concealed services. This makes competing quotations easier to compare and reduces surprises during installation.
Replacing an Older Gree Air Conditioning System
A replacement project should assess the complete installation rather than simply exchange visible units. The original capacity may be unsuitable, room use may have changed and existing pipework, drainage, electrics or controls may not be compatible with current equipment.
When Should Replacement Be Compared with Repair?
Replacement is worth assessing when faults recur, several components are ageing, comfort is uneven, noise has increased or a major repair would still leave an obsolete system. We inspect the installation and explain the practical scope of repair and replacement before work is authorised.
Can Existing Pipework Be Reused?
Reuse depends on pipe dimensions, material condition, cleanliness, insulation, pressure testing and compatibility with the proposed refrigerant and equipment. We also check condensate drainage, electrical protection, controllers and accessible ductwork. The quotation states what can remain and why.
F-gas and Future Serviceability
European F-gas rules continue the move towards refrigerants with lower climate impact. Compliance matters, but so do capacity, installation practicality, product availability and access for future service. The exact refrigerant and equipment data will be identified in the proposal.

Our Gree Installation Process
- Initial enquiry: Tell us which rooms are involved and whether this is a new system or replacement.
- Site survey: We inspect the property, services, routes and comfort priorities.
- Itemised proposal: The quotation identifies the models, capacity, controls and installation scope.
- Installation: Equipment, pipework, drainage, electrical connections and controls are fitted and checked.
- Commissioning and handover: We test operation and explain controls, filters and routine care.
Outdoor-unit airflow, secure mounting, coastal exposure, direct sun and service access are considered alongside indoor airflow and occupant positions.
Gree Repairs & Maintenance
New installation and complete replacement are our primary focus. We also provide air conditioning repair and maintenance for existing systems. Diagnosis can investigate poor performance, leakage, unusual noise or fault indications before parts are authorised.
Maintenance may include accessible filter and coil cleaning, drainage and electrical checks and performance testing. Parts and warranty coverage depend on the model, age, supply route and applicable Gree terms.

Gree Air Conditioning FAQs
Does Gree air conditioning provide heating and cooling?
Many current Gree systems provide cooling and air-to-air heat-pump heating. Capacity and seasonal performance depend on the exact combination.
Which Gree system can serve several rooms?
A compatible Free Match multi-split or ducted system may be suitable. The design depends on connected capacity, simultaneous demand, pipe routes and control requirements.
Can Gree air conditioning use Wi-Fi control?
Selected current ranges provide Wi-Fi or compatible control options. Model, accessory, network and app requirements will be confirmed.
Can existing pipes be reused?
Only when their dimensions, condition, cleanliness, insulation and compatibility have been verified along with drainage and electrical supplies.
How long does installation take?
A straightforward monosplit may be completed within a day. Multi-split, ducted and complete replacement projects can take longer.
What warranty applies to Gree equipment?
Coverage varies by model, supply route and current terms. Applicable product and workmanship coverage will be stated in the quotation and handover documents.
